DAY 13: The Litmus Test

Remember those tests in science class in high school where you’d have to lick those little pieces of paper that would either taste like nothing or taste like death?

Well, I’m proud to say that the Bible is like that too – super black and white, cut and dry, and serves as a really awesome litmus test for literally everything.

How? The Bible is like a double edged sword, piercing unto the soul and spirit. Why double edged? It speaks to us once as we read it, and once as we speak it and activate it. (Hebrews 4:12)

So often, well-intentioned people wonder whether God REALLY could use THEM.

And instead of acknowledging His love, they use their own past sin as the litmus test of whether God would want them well.

So today, we’re going to look at a few of my favorite scriptures to encourage (and convince) you that He truly is no respecter of persons.

Let’s start with my favorite verse ever. 3 John 2. It has only 1 chapter, so that’s why this verse looks weird and has no “chapter.” (lol)

3 John 2

“Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.”

It’s often misconstrued that God doesn’t want you well. However, the Bible actually states that it’s within His GREATEST will.

He desires for your body to be healthy, your life prosperous, and your soul working well, in fact, ABOVE ALL ELSE!

Yay, God. Thank You for being so black and white, (as the kids say…) “we love to see it.”

So today, rest in the fact that you can pray prayers of FAITH, not FEAR, that God wants you well! In Body, Spirit, and Soul!

What are those, exactly?

We’ll discuss that tomorrow!
