Today we’re talking about the spirit. One of my absolute favorite things to talk about.
Why? Because I’ve been a Christian my whole life, and it wasn’t until a few years ago that God really showed me what the heck MY spirit was.
And… just a forewarning…
I don’t think I’ll ever be able to truly elicit how much this blew my mind the first time God revealed this to me.
You know where God says we’re “made in His image”? Like… Genesis, Adam, first-human-on-earth times?
Well, how many times have we just zoomed over that at 200mph like: “Oh yeah, I know this verse?”
For me, I’ve zoomed a lot, and I don’t just mean for meetings. *wink.*
But I’ll never forget when God told me to slowwwww down on this verse, and I’m so glad He did.
Genesis 1:27 states:
So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.
Okay, so what’s the image of God?
Now, let’s go back to our verse that started this all, 1 Thessalonians 5:23.
And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
WOAH! God created us as a three-part being just like He is! How intentional is that? Super intentional.
Okay, so now that we’ve laid that foundation… let’s get to the spirit.
Would you believe it? The spirit has three parts too.
The conscience – the ability to know right and wrong and to speak for or against God.
Next we have the fellowship – our ability to commune with and contact God.
Finally, we have the intuition – a direct sense or knowing. It communicates with the Holy Spirit for discernment of situations, environments, and even the spirit inside of other people. This is where words of knowledge, the prophetic, and other supernatural “senses” come from.
How cool is our God?
I know this may sound really simple, but this continues to blow my mind on a daily basis.
So let’s put this all together.
You, as a born-again spirit-filled Christian (aka a saved person) have the ability to know what’s right and wrong, commune with God, and know things supernaturally with the help of hearing from God.
Talk about powerful!
Being a Christian is a pathway to your best life, walking as a bold and courageous person, eating the good of the land. (Joshua 1:9)
Are you as fired up as me?
See you tomorrow!
