Week 11 • Day 2 • Ponder

“The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.
John 10:10 (NKJV)

Jesus didn’t come for us to wallow in shame. Or feel like we aren’t good enough. Incapable. Underserving of a good vision or purpose. For us to be cast aside, unseen.

No, Jesus says that he came so that we may have life and have it more abundantly.

Do you ever feel like “the thief” tries to take your dream? That good and meaningful vision? Does he try to take your will? Or your strength? Does he try to take your focus off God and on to your earthly problems so that you run towards comfort and bad habits, rather than discipline and freedom?

When my life feels out of control, I want to get it together because I want to experience the abundant life Jesus promises me. Not a life without obstacles, we’ll have those. But an intimate life with Him, where I’m surrounded by his grace, forgiven and free to dream and pursue joy and peace and all good things.

What has the thief stolen from you? And how can you get it back?

It’s worth pondering.
