Then Pilate said to him, “So you are a king?” Jesus answered, “You say that I am a king. For this purpose I was born and for this purpose I have come into the world—to bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth listens to my voice.”  —John 18:37 ESV

Jesus was very clear about his purpose. Even though he was fully human, he was still fully God and fully understood why his presence on earth mattered. In Luke, he says he came to seek and save the lost. We see him declare his purpose using a different language but live his purpose in a consistent way. Every decision Jesus made was with purpose and in line with his purpose to change the world. He invites his followers to live with the same sense of purpose.

A study by The Barna Group shows:

  • 75% of people are looking for ways to live a more meaningful life.
  • 56% of people want to make a difference in the world.
  • 20% of people have a sense of what God wants them to do with their life.

This study is a reminder that God has hardwired us to live with purpose to impact the world, but many people have not taken the time to understand and gain clarity on what their purpose is.

Today, we begin a journey to engage in God’s plan for our lives. We can invite God to give us clarity on who he has called us to be and the impact he’s called us to have on the world. You were created to bring change to the world.

You were created on purpose and for a purpose.

Are you ready to invite Jesus to bring clarity to your purpose? Decide today to pursue the purpose of God for your life and tell someone about your decision.
